Yelena Geodakyan was born into a family of musicians, in Yerevan, Armenia. “I don’t know when I started to draw and paint” says Yelena, “I simply don’t remember myself not doing it…”
Yelena received her Master’s degree from the Academy of Fine Arts in Yerevan, Armenia in 1985. From 1988 to 1991 she completed the post-graduate courses of Art History at the Institute of Art of the Academy of Sciences of Armenia. In 1991 she moved to the US with her husband, artist Gago Oganesyan, and their daughter, Sona.
Since 1996, Yelena Geodakyan has been working as a lead artist in the world’s largest film and animation studios including Warner Brothers, Dreamworks, and Sony Entertainment. She has participated in the creation of numerous well known and award-winning films and shows such as “Sinbad, the Legend of the Seven Seas,” “The Iron Giant,” “Osmosis Jones,” “The Road to El Dorado,” “Quest for Camelot,” “Eight Crazy Nights,” “Father of the Pride,” “Open Season,” “Kung-Fu Panda,” and others.
Yelena Geodakyan’s paintings have been presented at various international and local, group and solo art shows (in Los Angeles, New-York, Moscow, Tokyo, etc.), and many of her paintings now enrich private collections.
